The museum takes place through the daily life of the Medici Grand Dukes family, from Cosimo I to the last descendants (early 18th century), Ferdinando, Gian Gastone and lastly Anna Maria Luisa also known as the Palatine Electress to whom it is dedicated the museum. The successors of the Medici, the Habsburg Lorraine, up to the first King of Italy with adjoining Royal apartments.
